US President Donald Trump has hinted at a possible regime change in Iran. In a post on his social media platform ‘Truth’, he wrote, “If the current Iranian government fails to make Iran ‘great’ again, then why shouldn’t there be a regime change?”

Meanwhile, Iran has vowed to retaliate against the recent US airstrikes. Trump claimed that the American assault had caused extensive destruction to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

He further stated, “Satellite images show severe damage at nearly all of Iran’s nuclear facilities. ‘Total destruction’ would be an accurate term. The most significant damage occurred deep underground—with pinpoint precision.”

Iran has not yet officially disclosed the extent of damage to its nuclear facilities. However, satellite images reveal major structural damage in three areas of the highly fortified Fordow nuclear site. These include two large craters, which experts believe were caused by bunker-busting bombs. In addition, an air defense system installed to protect the site was also reportedly damaged.

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told an emergency session of the UN Security Council that the main damage at Fordow occurred underground, though the full extent has yet to be determined.

Earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei posted on social media platform X, stating, “The Zionist enemy has made a grave mistake, a heinous crime; they must be punished—and they are being punished now.”
