US President Donald Trump has called for the prosecution of Beyoncé and several other high-profile figures, claiming they were illegally paid to endorse Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
In a Truth Social post shared on July 26, Trump alleged that Democrats improperly spent millions on celebrity endorsements, stating: “They admit to paying, probably illegally, Eleven Million Dollars to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT… Three Million Dollars to Oprah, Six Hundred Thousand Dollars to low-rated anchor Al Sharpton… and others to be named, for doing absolutely NOTHING!”
Trump further claimed the payments were misrepresented in official records, and that “paying for endorsements” is illegal. “Kamala and all those who received endorsement money BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted,” he wrote.
Campaign finance documents from 2024 do show major spending on rallies and events that featured stars like Beyoncé, Oprah, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry. However, a New York Times investigation in November clarified that these costs were related to production and staffing — not direct payments to celebrities.
Beyoncé openly supported Harris during the campaign, speaking at a Reproductive Rights rally and approving the use of her song Freedom as the campaign’s official anthem.
