The fair featured 112 stalls, including 8 government stalls, 8 private stalls, and 92 single nurseries, showcasing a variety of plant species. Among the saplings sold were 337,640 fruit-bearing plants, 248,274 timber plants, 114,515 medicinal plants, and 37,321 rare and endangered native species.
The Advisor also highlighted the review of current stall allocation policies to ensure greater transparency and accountability at future events. She praised participants for introducing rare and endangered plant species and stressed the need to prioritize eco-friendly nurseries moving forward.
During the event, awards and certificates were distributed to students who excelled in plant identification, essay writing, and painting competitions, as well as to stall owners and individuals recognized for their contributions to tree planting and wildlife conservation.
Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Secretary Dr. Farhina Ahmed and other officials were present at the fair.
The event successfully combined education, public participation, and environmental conservation, reinforcing the importance of community involvement in sustainable environmental practices, according to the ministry statement.
