Micheal Ward, best known for his role as Jamie in the series Top Boy, has been charged with two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault. The charges relate to a single woman and the alleged incidents occurred in January 2023.

Ward, a resident of Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on August 28, as confirmed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Detective Superintendent Scott Ware, leading the Metropolitan Police’s investigation, stated that specialist officers are supporting the woman involved, acknowledging the emotional toll such cases can take.

Catherine Baccas, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South, emphasized the importance of a fair trial, urging the public and media to avoid any reporting or online activity that might jeopardize the legal process.

Outside of Top Boy, which concluded its fifth season in 2023, Ward has also appeared in Lovers Rock from the Small Axe anthology, the film Empire of Light, and is featured in the upcoming western Eddington, set to release next month.
