The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that all proceeds from ticket sales for the third and final T20 International between Bangladesh and Pakistan on 24 July at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium will be donated to humanitarian causes in the wake of two recent national tragedies.

The gesture comes just days after a devastating plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara on 21 July, which killed 29 people and injured more than a hundred. Bangladesh’s T20I series win was subsequently dedicated to the victims, with a minute’s silence observed before the second match and special prayer arrangements made by the BCB.

In an official media release issued on matchday, the BCB stated:

“All ticket proceeds from today’s third and final T20 International between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be donated to humanitarian efforts in the wake of recent national tragedies.”

The board confirmed the funds would be distributed across two key causes:

1. The families of those killed and injured in the Milestone School air crash.

2. The July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, which supports the families of martyrs and the wounded from the July 2024 uprising.

Highlighting the importance of unity in moments of national grief, BCB President Md Aminul Islam Bulbul said:

“Cricket in Bangladesh is more than a sport — it’s a part of our national soul. At times of grief and remembrance, we must stand together as a community.

“The BCB is humbled to contribute in a small way to the healing process for those who have suffered so deeply in these recent tragedies. Our thoughts remain with the families and loved ones of the victims.”

The BCB also extended its “sincere gratitude to all fans attending today’s match for their support and generosity.”
