Thursday’s HSC exams postponed: Education adviser

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, scheduled for Thursday have been officially postponed in the wake of the tragic plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara on Monday.

Education Adviser CR Abrar confirmed the postponement after visiting the school on Wednesday.

The decision follows a series of events that unfolded in response to the crash, which led to significant casualties among students.

Earlier in the day, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul and Education Adviser Abrar visited Milestone School and College, where they were met by protesting students.

The students, who had been demonstrating since Tuesday morning, presented a six-point demand. After discussions with student representatives, the government assured the students that all their demands would be met.

Law Adviser Asif Nazrul later confirmed that the government had agreed to the six demands, following a meeting with students and teachers on campus.

Meanwhile, the HSC and equivalent examinations for Tuesday had also been postponed.

An official notification stated, “In light of the catastrophic training plane accident at Milestone School and College that caused significant student casualties, the interim government has declared Tuesday a National Day of Mourning. Consequently, all HSC and equivalent examinations under education boards have been postponed.”
