Three victims injured in the recent military aircraft crash near Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, remain in critical condition, with one of them currently on life support, according to hospital authorities.

Professor Dr Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Director of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, disclosed the update at a press conference on Monday (28 July).

He said a total of 33 patients are currently receiving treatment at the institute, including 27 children.

Three of them are in critical condition and are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while nine others are admitted to the high-dependency unit,” Dr Nasir Uddin said. “The remaining patients with less severe injuries are being treated in general wards.”

He added that three patients were initially scheduled for discharge today, but due to unfavourable weather conditions and the need for additional wound dressing, they were kept under observation. Several more patients are expected to be released gradually over the week.

Specialist doctors from Singapore, China, and India had arrived earlier to assist with the treatment of the burn victims. Following their contributions, they are now gradually returning to their home countries.

Earlier, two 12-year-old students, Ayan Khan and Rafsi, were discharged on Saturday, while Kazi Amzad Saeed (20) and Sabujha Begum (40) were released on Sunday.

Tragically, Sahil Farabi Ayan (14), a seventh-grade student at Milestone School, succumbed to his injuries and passed away at 1:45 am on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
