Three people, including a mother and her daughter, were killed and another person injured when a speeding covered van ran them over in Ishwardi Upazila of Pabna district on Wednesday morning. The deceased have been identified as Suborna Khatun and her daughter Purnota, residents of Natore Sadar Upazila, and Anisur Rahman, a litchi vendor from Salimpur Union in Ishwardi.
The accident also left Mofizul Islam, Suborna’s husband and a former Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) member, critically injured. He is currently receiving treatment at the Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.
Local authorities have confirmed the incident and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash and take necessary legal action.
