Three injured in N’ganj chemical explosion

Three people, who sustained burn injuries following a chemical explosion in Rupganj, Narayanganj, have been admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Friday.

The victims —Md Belal, 35, Md Roman, 20, and Md Rabbani, 35—were brought to the hospital around 5am on Friday, suffering from severe burns.

Dr Shaon Bin Rahman, a resident surgeon at the burn institute, said, “Three people who were burned in a chemical explosion have come to us. We have learned that there was a chemical explosion.”

According to Dr Shaon, of the injured Belal has 20 per cent burn injuries, Roman has 36 per cent, and Rabbani with 15 per cent.

While the exact cause of the chemical explosion remains unclear, the authorities are investigating the incident. The victims are currently being treated for their injuries, but their conditions remain critical. Further details about the explosion are expected to be known as the investigation continues.
