Artist Yasmin Jahan Nupur’s exhibition ‘Unravelling Silence’ concluded on Saturday at Bengal Shilpalay, after drawing steady interest for its quiet exploration of memory, displacement and the unspoken weight carried through everyday life.
The exhibition featured soft sculptures, suspended weavings and translucent textile installations that transformed Jamdani into a language of emotional storytelling. Stillness and fragility shaped the works, hinting at unsettled journeys, shifting homes and the echoes of unresolved narratives.
Organisers said layered textiles, ghostlike garments and fragments of text encouraged viewers to consider silence as both refuge and erasure. The raw architecture of Bengal Shilpalay deepened that experience, with the delicate materials responding to the gallery’s open floor and unfinished textures.
Curated by Tanzim Wahab, the show extended Nupur’s ongoing exploration of place, tenderness and inherited memory, presenting stories that surfaced slowly like threads loosening from tightly woven fabric.
‘Unravelling Silence’ remained open until 8pm on Saturday, according to the organisers.
