BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince stated that the party is unequivocally committed to preventing the resurgence of autocracy and fascism, with both the country and BNP having suffered immensely due to autocratic and fascist forces.

He said, “The BNP has survived by confronting autocracy and fascism. The party sincerely desires reforms to prevent their revival. However, there is a conspiracy to delay elections by creating complications with unreasonable and disconnected issues under the guise of reform.”

Prince made these remarks during a discussion meeting with leaders of the Dhobaura Upazila, Union, and various college chapters of the Chhatra Dal (student wing) on Sunday afternoon.

Later, he held separate discussions with leaders of the Upazila and Union Mahila Dal (women’s wing) and the Ulama Dal (religious scholars’ wing).

At the Chhatra Dal meeting, he urged grassroots leaders to strengthen the organisation further, emphasising the need to prepare for future challenges. “Though fascism has ended through the blood of countless martyrs, disappearances, killings, and the sacrifices of comrades, complete victory has not yet been achieved,” he added.

He said, “Democracy must be restored by holding a neutral and competitive election to elect people’s representatives at the earliest. Only then will the path to complete victory and the realisation of the people’s uprising be paved.”

He also called on activists to ensure that Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman’s message reaches every village and household through the “Dhaner Shish” (Paddy Sheaf) campaign. He warned against being misled by anti-BNP propaganda from certain quarters.

The Chhatra Dal meeting, presided over by Dhobaura Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Jalal Uddin and moderated by Member Secretary Saiful Islam Palash, was attended by former Dhobaura Upazila BNP President Mofiz Uddin, Convener Azharul Islam Kajol, Member Secretary Anisur Rahman Manik, Joint Conveners Moazzem Hossain Khan Liton, Farhad Rabbani Saman, Abdul Momen Shahin, District Juba Dal Vice President Abul Kashem Dollar, former District Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary Faruk Hossain, and other student leaders, including Upazila Chhatra Dal Joint Conveners Sirajul Islam, Mostak Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan, Anwar Hossain, and Dhobaura Ideal Degree College Chhatra Dal President Sarwar Hossain.
