Thailand has officially been ranked the third most fun country in the world, just behind Spain and Brazil. Known as the “Land of Smiles,” it stands out for its glowing beaches, sizzling street food, neon-lit parties, and rich cultural heritage. From bustling Bangkok to serene islands and mountain trails, Thailand offers experiences that keep travellers coming back for more.

From September to November 2025, the Thai government is offering 200,000 free domestic round-trip flights to international visitors. The program, called “Buy International, Free Thailand Domestic Flights,” lets tourists travel within Thailand for free after booking an international flight.

Participating airlines include Thai Airways, AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Vietjet. Each free flight includes 20 kg of baggage, perfect for souvenirs, beachwear and adventure gear. The aim is to encourage tourists to go beyond Bangkok and popular beaches, helping local economies while discovering Thailand’s hidden gems.

Suggested Destinations

Here’s how you can make the most of your free flights:

  • Bangkok – Explore lively street markets, historic temples and a buzzing nightlife.
  • Chiang Mai – Discover northern mountains, ancient temples and rich cultural experiences.
  • Phuket – Relax on turquoise beaches, try water sports and savour fresh seafood.
  • Krabi – Climb limestone cliffs, island-hop or simply enjoy stunning beaches.

With free domestic flights and the country’s vibrant mix of culture, nature and nightlife, there’s never been a better time to explore Thailand. It’s time to pack your bags, bring along your flip-flops and get ready for the trip.
