Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the temporary police camp in Munshiganj will become permanent soon.
After inspecting the Guagachhia Police Camp in Gazaria Upazila, Munshiganj, on Saturday afternoon, Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “The people of Munshiganj had a heartfelt demand – to establish a police camp here. By the grace of Allah, although it is not a permanent camp, it has been opened temporarily. I hope it will become permanent in time. I am also a resident of Munshiganj. So, on behalf of our brothers from outside Munshiganj, I also extend thanks. I may not be able to speak about events of the past thirty or forty years, but I feel that a camp is needed here.”
He further stated, “Regarding Nayan and Piyash, I was asking on the streets – it is believed that they are not in the country, they have gone to a neighboring country. However, if they return to the country, they will have no place other than Keraniganj Central Jail. They will have no place in this area. A proposal has already been sent to make this outpost permanent.”
Present at the time were DIG of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallik, Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat, Police Superintendent Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, Gazaria UNO Md Ashraful Alam, Gazaria Thana OC Anwar Alam Azad, along with other police administration officials.
