A 16-year-old boy was killed during a violent clash between two rival drug-dealer groups at Geneva Camp in Dhaka.
The incident occurred around 3:30pm on Monday, when members of two groups “Bunia Selim” and “Picchi Raja” engaged in a deadly scuffle.
The victim, Shah Alam, was reportedly attacked and had his throat slit during the clash.
Following the incident, police have arrested two individuals named Faisal and Selim, along with a machete believed to have been used in the attack.
Confirmed the matter, Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ali Iftekhar Hasan said, a special operation is underway to apprehend drug dealers and gang members in the area. The victim’s body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. Preliminary investigation suggests that the murder was a result of ongoing dispute between rival drug-dealer groups within the camp.
