BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman joined party activists in performing Eid-ul-Adha prayers at Kingsmeadow Stadium in London’s Kingston area on Friday.

Despite rainy weather since morning, hundreds of expatriate Bangladeshis gathered at the historic sports ground for the 10:30am local time congregation. Rahman was accompanied by UK BNP General Secretary Kaysar M Ahmed, Ziaur Rahman Foundation’s European Coordinator Kamal Uddin, and other party leaders.

The prayer assembly also included Rahman’s wife Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman, widow of late Arafat Rahman Koko.

Following prayers, Rahman participated in special supplications for Bangladesh’s welfare and exchanged Eid greetings with attendees. He later shared a video clip on his official Facebook page with the caption: “Eid Mubarak to all celebrating worldwide. As we observe Eid-ul-Adha – symbolising sacrifice, reflection and gratitude – let’s reaffirm our commitment to peace, happiness, and solidarity.”

“May this spirit of unity and selflessness inspire us to build a more just and accountable society. Let tolerance and harmony guide our hearts, especially strengthening Bangladesh’s democratic aspirations,” he added.
