BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman conveyed party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s greetings to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus during his first-ever meeting with the head of the interim government.
“Amma has conveyed her salam,” Tarique told Yunus while shaking hands, to which Yunus responded, “Walaikum salam.”
As Yunus remarked that he was feeling very good to meet him, Tarique reciprocated the sentiment.
Tarique Rahman was received by National Security Adviser Khalilur Rahman, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, and other officials upon his arrival at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
He was accompanied by BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
Dr. Yunus walked a few steps to welcome Tarique Rahman and shook hands with him for about a minute before they sat for a crucial meeting.
