BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman chanted a new slogan on Wednesday while virtually addressing a massive crowd gathered in front of the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan.
At the event, which was organised by the party’s three youth fronts, Tarique chanted: “Delhi noy, ‘Pindi noy, noy onnon kono desh; shobar age Bangladesh.” (Not Delhi, not Rawalpindi, not any other country; Bangladesh comes first).
Tarique Rahman went on to urge party leaders and activists to prioritise nationalist interests and to be inspired by the spirit of patriotism.
Thousands of BNP leaders and activists from across the country participated in the ‘youth rally,’ with many carrying banners and festoons featuring images of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, highlighting the party’s ongoing campaign for democratic restoration and electoral reforms.
The rally was held amid growing pressure on interim government headed by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to outline a specific roadmap for the next general election.
Senior BNP leaders, including Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moyeen Khan, and Salahuddin Ahmed, addressed the rally.
