Ayra Tahreem Khan, daughter of singer-actor Tahsan Rahman Khan and actor Rafiath Rashid Mithila, has made her first on-screen appearance in a television commercial released on 8 August.
The ad, directed by Piplu R Khan for Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, features Ayra alongside her mother. Both now serve as brand ambassadors for the cosmetics label.
Mithila, speaking to Kaler Kantho about Ayra’s debut, said that the brand approached her with the idea of casting a real mother and teenage daughter. “Since Ayra and I are more like friends, the concept fit us perfectly. After some thought, we agreed,” she added.
Calling it her daughter’s first acting role, Mithila said Ayra responded enthusiastically to the project and passed the audition despite initial nerves on set. “I’m grateful to the director for guiding her. The whole unit said her performance felt very natural,” she added.
Filming took place in the last week of July, with a full-day schedule from early morning until night. Mithila admitted it was a demanding introduction to life on set for Ayra, who had never worked under such conditions before.
“She isn’t used to the lights, the people or the need to perform in that environment,” Mithila said. “But I was there with her and the team was incredibly supportive; that’s how we managed.”
