Southeast Bank hosts workshop to boost women entrepreneurship

Southeast Bank Training Institute recently organised a day-long workshop titled “Women Entrepreneur Development Programme” for officials working at the bank’s Women Entrepreneur Help Desk.

The programme aimed to enhance the capacity of these officials and increase engagement of women entrepreneurs in business initiatives, says a press release.

Sayma Banu, director (training), delivered the welcome speech at the session.

The workshop was inaugurated by Mohammed Rashedul Amin, deputy managing director of Southeast Bank PLC, who stressed the need to strengthen the Women Entrepreneur Help Desk to promote women-led enterprises in Bangladesh.

Syed Abu Naser, senior vice president and head of SME and agri credit, along with resource persons from the Credit Risk Management Division, conducted sessions focused on borrower assessment, financial evaluation, and market outreach strategies.

Participants received practical guidance on financing procedures, understanding borrower profiles, and evaluating loan proposals tailored for women entrepreneurs.

According to a press release issued by Southeast Bank, a total of 45 participants from different branches, including Women Entrepreneur Help Desk officials, took part in the workshop.
