South Africa have named promising batters Dewald Brevis and Lhuan-dre Pretorius in both their T20 and ODI squads for next month’s white-ball tour of Australia, while off-spinner Prenelan Subrayen has been handed his first limited-overs call-up.

The Proteas will face Australia in three T20 internationals from 10 to 16 August, followed by a three-match ODI series between 19 and 24 August.

All three of Brevis (22), Pretorius (19) and Subrayen (31) made their Test debuts during the ongoing tour of Zimbabwe and have now been included in both squads as South Africa look to broaden their options ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup cycle.

Several senior players were rested for the ongoing tri-series in Zimbabwe — which includes New Zealand — but return for the Australia tour. Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs are among those recalled.

Markram will captain the T20 team, while Temba Bavuma will lead the ODI side. All-rounder Marco Jansen has been ruled out of the tour due to injury.
