Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho has resigned from his position as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation.
He announced his resignation at a press conference following a board meeting of the foundation held at the state guest house Jamuna.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, who is also President of the foundation that supports the families of those killed and injured during the July movement, presided over the meeting.
Despite stepping down as CEO, Snigdho will continue as a member of the foundation’s board of directors.
The board appointed Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Kamal Akbar as the new CEO of the foundation.
Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdho is the brother of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho, who was martyred during the student uprising.
Snigdho was initially appointed as the General Secretary of the foundation when it was established in September last year. He was later made the CEO.
