Six more people died from measles or measles‑like symptoms across Bangladesh in the 24 hours to 8am Sunday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
Of the deaths, three were in Sylhet Division, two in Dhaka Division, and one in Barishal Division.
During the same period, 75 new confirmed measles cases were detected. Another 988 suspected patients were reported, including 352 in Dhaka Division and 259 in Chattogram Division.
In the past 24 hours, 938 new patients were admitted to hospitals, while 942 were discharged after treatment.
From 15 March to 9 August, the country has logged 136,320 suspected measles cases, of which 17,115 were confirmed.
Over this period, 775 suspected patients have died, and 98 deaths have been confirmed as directly caused by measles. In total, 118,382 patients have been hospitalised and 114,142 have recovered.
Meanwhile, the national measles‑rubella vaccination campaign has achieved an average coverage of 107 per cent of target across the eight divisions.
Chattogram recorded the highest divisional coverage at 110 percent, while Gazipur City Corporation led among the 12 city corporations with 114 per cent.
