Demra Police Station has arrested singer Mainul Ahsan Noble in connection with a sexual violence case involving a third-year Eden College student. The victim, originally from Tangail but residing in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area, has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s One-Stop Crisis Center. Police investigations indicate the singer allegedly sexually assaulted the woman over a seven-month period.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Media and Public Relations Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muhammad Talebur Rahman verified the arrest through an official text message.

Noble was apprehended at his home in Amtala, Sharuari under Demra jurisdiction, with police set to take him to court later in the afternoon.

Previously, Noble had been embroiled in several controversies, including a fraud case in which he had taken Tk1.72 lakh from organisers without showing up for the event and accusations from his ex-wife, deeming him to be a “druggie” and “wife-beater.”
