The second team of medical specialists from Singapore has arrived in Dhaka to assist in the treatment of those injured in the recent military aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Diabari, Uttara. The first team came on July 22.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the arrival in a verified Facebook post issued around 10am on Friday. According to the official statement, the second medical delegation from Singapore consists of five members. They landed in Dhaka at 10:40pm on Thursday night.

The team will collaborate with the local medical specialists at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, joining the ongoing efforts to provide treatment for the wounded. The statement noted that, in addition to technical expertise, the Singaporean team will also offer professional support during the treatment process.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday when a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed into the Milestone School and College compound in Uttara, leading to severe casualties and widespread burn injuries.

As per the latest update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) released at 9pm on Thursday, the death toll from the crash stands at 31, while 51 others are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals.

However, there has been some confusion regarding the official death count. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) initially reported 31 fatalities as of noon on Tuesday. Later that night, another victim succumbed to injuries at the burn institute, prompting some media outlets to report the toll as 32. On Thursday, the government reconfirmed the figure at 31, contributing to a degree of uncertainty about the final count.
