Sevilla have signed Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez on a free transfer, bringing him back to La Liga after more than ten years. The 36-year-old, previously with Udinese, will arrive in Spain soon to complete his contract with the club.

This move sees Sanchez return to Spanish football since leaving Barcelona for Arsenal in 2014. Sevilla acted fast to sign the veteran striker to replace Dodi Lukebakio, who is moving to Benfica for €30 million.

The signing is part of a busy transfer deadline day for Sevilla as they aim to strengthen their team after a tough last season. Sanchez was also linked with Fenerbahce, but that deal fell through.

Since his time at Barcelona, Sanchez has played for six clubs across three major European leagues, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter (twice), Marseille, and Udinese.

He is expected to compete for a starting spot in Sevilla’s lineup, especially with Lukebakio’s departure and an injury to winger Chidera Ejuke.
