People will not be able to visit the Bangladesh Secretariat on Thursday – along with the previously set Monday – raising the entry restrictions to two days a week from now on.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the decision, adding that the restriction applies to all individuals without approved access cards.

The directive, issued by the Security Services Division, cites the need to maintain security during advisory council meetings and other administrative activities.

The decision was communicated through an official order signed by Joint Secretary Md Jasim Uddin.

The Bangladesh Secretariat serves as the central hub for the country’s administrative functions, housing various ministries and divisions. The new policy aims to enhance security and streamline operations within the Secretariat.

According to the directive, individuals requiring access on these restricted days are advised to apply for special permits through the Home Ministry, the directive added.
