The English-language Bangladeshi film ‘Dot’ has received its release clearance from the Film Censorship Board. Confirming the news, producer Barua Monojit Dhiman stated that the release date will be announced soon. The film has been directed by Barua Sunanda Kankan.
Dot marks the second English-language feature film made in Bangladesh, following The Grave, directed by Gazi Rakayet.
Speaking about the film, Monojit Dhiman said, “Dot portrays the harsh realities of women’s struggles and the broader backdrop of life. The film has now been approved for release and it’s time for audiences to experience it. It will soon be released in cinemas both in Bangladesh and abroad.”
The producer also noted that members of the Film Certification Board praised the film after viewing it.
Dot features a cast comprising actors from the group theatre scene. Among the performers are Barua Monojit Dhiman, Mishti Akhter, Pari, Rajibul Islam, Sonia Parvin Shapla, Mamun, Mostafizur Rahman, Katha Chowdhury, Masud, Kamrul Islam, Masud Chowdhury, Tariqul Islam Tarek, Abdul Barik Mukul and Sendy Kumar, among others.
