Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas were married for eight years and Apu often shares memories from that time. In a recent interview, she revealed that Shakib once told her to run and slim down because he felt she was overweight.
In 2023, Apu took her son, Abram Khan Joy, on a trip to the US. During a planned visit to Central Park, a humorous incident occurred when Apu arrived late for a horse ride.
“Joy wanted ice cream so I went to get it. When I came back, I saw Joy and his father had already climbed onto the horse. I was shouting from a distance, ‘Hey, won’t you take me?’” Apu recalled, laughing.
A video from the moment shows Apu running, fixing her hair, as the riders lift her onto the horse. She added, “When I asked Shakib why he did that, he said, ‘On purpose. I like it when you run.’ I was a little overweight then and he had jokingly made the remake: ‘Run, you’ll lose a little fat.’”
She also revealed that Shakib sometimes teased her by calling her “fat.” “Now he can’t say that anymore because I’ve slimmed down,” she joked.
Apu further discussed the downside of social media trolling on a podcast she attended as a guest. “I support social media, but it also causes pain. People troll without understanding, which is pointless,” she said.
She stressed the importance of having a sense of responsibility before commenting or writing about someone.
