Rajshahi University (RU) has announced comprehensive preparations for the upcoming elections to the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU), as well as hall union and senate student representative positions.

A total of 990 voting booths will be installed across 17 centres in nine academic buildings, ensuring that all 28,905 registered student voters can cast their ballots efficiently.

Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr F Nazrul Islam confirmed the details during a press briefing on Tuesday, adding that the large-scale arrangements were made to avoid long queues and ensure a smooth electoral process.

The elections are scheduled to take place on September 25, with voting to run uninterrupted from 9am to 4pm.

Following the close of polls, all ballot boxes will be transferred to the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium, where vote counting will begin immediately. For transparency, the entire counting process will be broadcast live on LED screens outside the venue.
