The Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo became the first footballer in history to score 100 competitive goals for four different clubs, achieving the milestone during the Saudi Super Cup final on 23 August 2025.
Ronaldo struck from the penalty spot late in the first half against Al Ahli at Hong Kong Stadium, marking his 100th goal for Al Nassr since joining the Saudi club in December 2022. The 40-year-old now joins an exclusive list of players who have scored 100 or more goals for multiple teams, surpassing Isidro Lángara, Romário and Neymar, who each reached 100 goals for three clubs.
Ronaldo’s career tally is staggering: 450 goals in 438 matches for Real Madrid, 145 in 346 matches for Manchester United across two spells, and 101 in 134 appearances for Juventus. Alongside his 100 goals for Al Nassr, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner now has a total of 939 career goals.
He also holds the record as the all-time leading international scorer with 138 goals for Portugal, further cementing his legacy as one of football’s greatest.
Despite Ronaldo’s landmark, Al Nassr were denied the trophy after the match ended 2-2 in regulation time and went to a penalty shootout. Franck Kessié equalised for Al Ahli soon after Ronaldo’s penalty, Marcelo Brozovic briefly restored Al Nassr’s lead in the closing minutes, but Brazilian defender Roger Ibanez scored a stoppage-time equaliser to send the match to penalties.
Ronaldo converted one of Al Nassr’s penalties, but his teammate Abdullah Al-Khaibari missed, allowing Al Ahli to win 5-3 and lift the first trophy of the Saudi season.
