Rolls Royce loses control on expressway, 4 injured

A luxury Rolls Royce car lost control and crashed on the 300-foot expressway in Purbachal, Rupganj, Narayanganj, leaving four people seriously injured. All victims have been admitted to Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara.

The injured include Abdus Sabur, owner of Masco Group, his wife, their child Tawaz, and another individual.

The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the brand-new Rolls Royce Spectre model – which had no license plate – veered out of control on the Purbachal expressway and collided with a road divider.

Abdus Sabur, the car’s owner, is the chairman of Masco Group and former chairman of United Commercial Bank (UCB).

Rupganj Police Station’s Acting Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Tariqul Islam told Times of Bangladesh: “Four occupants, including the driver, were injured in the crash and hospitalised at Evercare.” He added, “The front portion of this ultra-luxury vehicle was completely mangled. The passengers survived due to the car’s airbag deployment.”

The Rolls Royce, valued at no less than Tk6 crore, was seized by police after the accident and taken to the police station.
