Bangladesh has witnessed a substantial surge in remittance inflows, showing a 33.6% growth in the first 27 days of July 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to recent data.

As of July 27, 2025, the total remittance inflow reached $2.099 billion, up from USD 1.572 billion during the same period in 2024, marking an increase of $0.527 billion within just 27 days.

In comparison, the total remittance received for the entire month of July 2024 was $1.667 billion, highlighting a strong recovery in remittance inflows this year.

Additionally, Bangladesh recorded the highest-ever remittance inflows in the fiscal year 2024-25, surpassing the $30 billion mark for the first time in its history.

Experts attribute this growth to the market-based exchange rate mechanism as well as the diaspora’s renewed sense of confidence in the country, particularly following the political changes in August of last year.
