Bangladesh received a record $30.32 billion in remittances in the fiscal year 2024–25—the highest single-year remittance inflow in the country’s history.
According to the latest report from Bangladesh Bank released on Tuesday (1 July), the total remittance received in FY2024–25 stood at $30.32 billion (USD 3,032.50 crore). This marks a 26.80 percent increase from the previous fiscal year’s $23.91 billion.
The earlier highest annual remittance was recorded in FY2020–21, when the country received $24.77 billion. In FY2022–23, the total stood at $21.61 billion, and in FY2021–22, it was $21.03 billion. In FY2019–20, Bangladesh received $18.20 billion in remittance.
In monthly breakdowns, June 2025 saw an inflow of $2.82 billion, while May recorded $2.97 billion—the second-highest monthly remittance in history. In April, the figure was $2.75 billion.
March 2025 posted the highest monthly remittance on record at $3.29 billion. At an average exchange rate of Tk122 per USD, that amounts to over Tk40,138 crore.
In February and January 2025, remittances stood at $2.53 billion and $2.19 billion respectively.
