Met office foresees light to moderate rain or thundershowers in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting Sunday morning.

Rain with lightning and gusty winds is likely in many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and in some parts of Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram. Some areas may experience heavy rainfall, especially in the northern and northeastern regions, according to the met office.

A low-pressure trough stretches from Indian West Bengal state to the North Bay across southwestern Bangladesh. The southwest monsoon has already reached the Cox’s Bazar coast and may spread further. A low-pressure area is expected to form over the North Bay around 27 May.

Daytime temperatures will remain mostly unchanged, while nighttime temperatures may rise slightly.

Sunset in Dhaka is at 6:39 pm today; sunrise tomorrow will be at 5:12 am.
