Olympique de Marseille have placed Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe on the transfer list following what the club described as “unacceptable behaviour” in the dressing room after last week’s Ligue 1 defeat to Stade Rennais.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the club confirmed the disciplinary action was taken in agreement with the technical staff and aligned with Marseille’s internal code of conduct.

“This decision was taken due to unacceptable behaviour in the dressing room after the match against Stade Rennais FC,” the club said. “The decision was communicated to the two players by the club on Monday.”

French media reported that Rabiot and Rowe were involved in a post-match altercation following Friday’s 1-0 defeat to Rennes, who played the majority of the match with ten men.

Both players joined Marseille last year and featured regularly as the club secured a second-place finish in Ligue 1.

The disciplinary move casts uncertainty over their futures at the Stade Vélodrome, with Marseille now expected to seek transfer opportunities for both players before the window closes.
