Prime Bank PLC has distributed agricultural loans to farmers in Madhukhali upazila, Faridpur, as part of its ongoing initiatives to support the growth of Bangladesh’s agriculture sector. The disbursement ceremony, held on Tuesday, was attended by around 150 local farmers.
During the event, eight farmers were honoured for their exemplary record of timely loan repayment, receiving crests in recognition of their commitment. Key participants included TM Forhad Reza Jewel, Additional Director of the Agricultural Credit Department at Bangladesh Bank; Md Abu Rasel, Upazila Nirbahi Officer; Md Mahbub Elahi, Agricultural Extension Officer; and senior executives of Prime Bank.
Speaking at the programme, Prime Bank Deputy Managing Director M Nazeem A Choudhury emphasised the vital role of agriculture in ensuring food security, creating employment, and reducing poverty. He reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to enhancing farmers’ financial inclusion through targeted loan schemes such as Abad for crop production, Khamar for farm management, and Nabanna for agricultural machinery purchases.
