Following the extended Eid-ul-Fitr and Ramadan holidays, all government and private primary schools across the country reopened on Tuesday, along with madrasas.
Meanwhile, secondary schools are set to resume classes on 9 April, according to the Ministry of Education and education directorates.
The academic calendar published by the Ministry of Education, as well as notices issued by the Directorate of Primary Education, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, and the Madrasa Education Board, confirm the reopening schedule.
Many schools also issued notices on their official websites and Facebook pages, reiterating the return-to-class schedule after the long break.
Secondary schools had effectively been closed since 27 February, with 28 February and 1 March being weekly holidays. The official closure began on 2 March.
After nearly 40 days off for Ramadan and Eid, classes at the secondary level will resume in full swing from Wednesday.
Madrasas, which closed even earlier on 25 February, are reopening after a 42-day holiday that included observances for Ramadan, Independence Day, Jum’atul Wida, Shab-e-Qadr, and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Madrasa Education Directorate has issued instructions for all madrasas to resume classes from 8 April.
Meanwhile, colleges under the National University resumed classes on Sunday (6 April) following the end of the holiday period on Thursday (3 April), with 4 and 5 April observed as weekly holidays.
Regular academic activities are now ongoing at the college level as well.
