Presidency University students awarded in the Netherlands

Three students from the department of Law and Justice at Presidency University have returned with success from Netherlands. They achieved this success by participating in a moot court competition which was held in Hague from June 11 to June 18.

Presidency University authorities shared the information on Sunday at an event named “Meet the press” organised at Hotel La Vinci in the capital.

It was informed that the Department of Law and Justice of Presidency University won the “IBA Spirit of the Competition Award in the IBA ICC MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2025.”

The team members are Syed Mahin, Mahbubur Rahman Shohag and Sonali Rajbongshi. Lecturer Salsabil Chowdhury was their coach.

The IBA ICC Moot is a competition based on the activities of International Criminal Court (ICC), where law students from well-known universities participate and present legal argument on complex issues related to international crimes, human rights, and humanitarian law.

A moot court is a replica of a real courtroom. Through these competitions, law students can get to know about how lawyers do their job, what they have to do, and finally students, can gain real life experiences too.

Also present at the press conference were the head of the Department of Law and Justice Didarul Islam Bhuiyan, Deputy Director and Head Zahid Hasan, Dean of the School of Law Azharul Islam alongside dignitaries from the media.
