Police have identified the suspects in the chilling murder case of BNP joint convenor of Gulshan Thana Quamrul Ahsan Shadhon.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda Police Station Saiful Islam has confirmed that CCTV footage captured the brutal shooting.
“Police have identified the suspects based on the CCTV footage and are currently working to apprehend them. Several teams from law enforcement agencies have been deployed to track down the accused, and efforts are underway to determine the motive behind the killing,” he said.
Preparations for filing a case regarding the murder are in progress. However, OC Saiful Islam declined to disclose the names of the suspects at this stage of the investigation.
The OC said victim Quamrul was joint convenor of Gulshan Thana BNP and was associated with satellite television business.
CCTV footage shows two individuals indiscriminately firing at Quamrul on Road No 4 of Gudaraghat before calmly walking away from the scene on Sunday night.
He was taken to National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and was declared dead.
Police suspect ISP (internet service provider) or cable TV businesses or political conflict to be behind the assassination. Gulshan and Badda Thana police is working to apprehend the killers. More than one group of detectives are on the ground to gather further details about the crime.
