Poland has accused Russia of breaking international law after a Russian drone strike hit a Polish-owned factory in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia, according to Polish news outlet TVP World.
The factory, owned by the Barlinek Group—a well-known Polish company that makes wooden flooring—was badly damaged during the attack on Wednesday night. It is now expected to stay closed for at least six months. Seven people were hurt in the strike, including two with serious injuries, Polish officials said.
Polish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pawel Wronski said the factory was directly targeted. Out of 28 drones launched on the city, five hit the factory.
He posted on X (formerly Twitter): “The attack on the Barlinek plant in Vinnytsia, which is Polish-owned and only used for civilian production, is a violation of international law.”
In response, the Polish government called in a Russian embassy official to make a formal protest against the attack.
