Pedro Pascal has gone viral after clips surfaced of him playing the video game Marvel Rivals for the first time, taking on the role of Mr. Fantastic. Fans cannot get enough of the actor’s hilarious reactions as he fumbles through the gameplay.
Marvel Rivals is a fast-paced 6v6 multiplayer hero shooter featuring iconic Marvel heroes and villains. The game debuted last year and continues to draw attention with regular updates and new playable characters. Its first season recently added the Fantastic Four to the roster.
As part of promotional efforts for Marvel’s upcoming film ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, YouTuber Loserfruit hosted a gaming session with cast members Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) and Pascal.
During the session, Kirby shared her love for The Sims, while Moss-Bachrach revealed he enjoys playing backgammon. Pascal quipped, “I like mind games,” and joked that he never made it beyond the original Nintendo console.
When it was Pascal’s turn to play, he hesitated, saying, “I don’t think I should play. This is going to be sad as hell.” As he fumbled with Mr. Fantastic’s abilities, he added, “This is very difficult. How do kids learn how to do this? Are there console classes one can take?” Despite the struggle, he praised the game’s visuals and joked, “I’m literally going to retire and learn how to game. I think you’ve introduced a very dangerous chapter into my future.”
Fans were delighted by his performance. “I’m actually in tears. Take the controller from him right now,” one user posted alongside a video clip. “Him being bad at video games will always be my favorite,” another commented. “Get Pedro on Twitch NOW,” urged a third.
This is not Pascal’s first humorous run-in with gaming. Prior to the release of HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’, he admitted to ignoring advice from showrunner Craig Mazin to avoid playing the game. He tried it anyway, but did not get far. “My nephews were watching me play and eventually got tired of my inability to complete the level, so they took my controller from me,” he told IGN.
In related gaming news, Microsoft has announced that another major title will be joining Xbox Game Pass later this year.
