Bangladesh opener Parvez Hossain Emon has been left out of the playing XI for today’s T20 International against the United Arab Emirates, despite being declared fit for selection following a recent injury scare.

Emon experienced discomfort in his left groin while batting during the opening match of the series. As a precautionary measure, he did not take the field during the UAE’s innings.

The left-hander underwent a fitness assessment earlier today and was deemed available for selection. However, after careful evaluation, team management has opted to give him additional time to recover fully, prioritising his long-term fitness over a swift return to action.

A spokesperson for the Bangladesh team stated: “Parvez has made good progress and was cleared in the fitness test, but we felt it was in his best interest to rest him for today’s match. We are hopeful he will be fully ready for the next fixture.”

Bangladesh are looking to continue their winning momentum in the series, with team management keeping a close eye on player workload ahead of a packed international schedule.
