Pakistan on Sunday strongly criticised the recent U.S. attacks on three Iranian nuclear facilities, expressing deep concern over the potential for further escalation in the region.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the strikes as an “unprecedented escalation of tension and violence,” warning that continued aggression against Iran could have “severely damaging implications for the region and beyond,” reports Xinhua.
The ministry stressed the importance of protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure and called for an immediate end to hostilities. It urged all parties to respect international law, particularly international humanitarian law.
“Dialogue and diplomacy, in line with the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, remain the only viable path toward resolving this crisis,” the ministry said.
