Ozzy Osbourne has been laid to rest on the grounds of his Buckinghamshire mansion following a star-studded private funeral attended by close family, friends and fellow music legends.

The Black Sabbath frontman and heavy metal icon passed away aged 76 on July 22, just weeks after his final live show in Birmingham. In the days that followed, thousands paid tribute across his hometown, with emotional gatherings and floral tributes lining the streets.

The funeral procession on July 31 offered fans a final chance to say goodbye, before a more intimate ceremony took place at his 250-acre estate.

Around 110 guests attended, including Elton John, members of Metallica, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie and Ozzy’s Black Sabbath bandmates.

Yungblud, a close friend, gave a reading, while Marilyn Manson later posted on X: “Your inspiration and love will always be with me.”
In a 2011 column for The Times, Ozzy wrote that he wanted his funeral to be a celebration, not a “mope-fest”, even suggesting a few pranks to lighten the mood.

Tributes have poured in from across the music world, with figures like Alice Cooper, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jack White and Zak Starkey honouring his legacy.

Fans are now campaigning to rename Birmingham Airport and a Download Festival stage in his memory — one petition has already surpassed 57,000 signatures.
