London-based company Sayan’s Global launched an ambitious bid today to bring the ‘Noakhali Royals’ franchise into the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Company owner Ahmed Jamil confirmed they formally submitted their proposal to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), declaring: “We are completely ready from our side.”

The announcement came hours before the BCB’s critical board meeting in Mirpur, where directors will decide whether to approve a new franchise for the next BPL season. Jamil, a British-Bangladeshi businessman, emphasised his commitment to regional identity: “We want to buy the team in the name of Noakhali. We will not take any other name. We want to promote Noakhali.”

Sayan’s Global, listing a London contact address on its website, seeks to become the BPL’s first franchise explicitly representing a specific district. Jamil expressed hope the BCB would “view our proposal positively and fulfil the expectations of the people of Noakhali.”

If approved, the BCB will outline next steps. “They will tell us what documents they need,” Jamil stated, indicating readiness to meet all requirements. The move could energise fans in southeastern Bangladesh, historically underrepresented in the league.
