Sarjis Alam, the chief organiser of the National Citizen Party for the northern region, stated that there will be no place in Bangladesh for any foreign-aligned, deviant, or opposing forces except those aligned with Bangladesh.
He made these remarks on Saturday afternoon at Jamaat-e-Islami’s national rally in Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
Sarjis Alam said, “In Bangladesh, pro-Mujib, India-aligned forces are becoming active again. We may have differences among ourselves, but in this Bangladesh, there will be no room for any foreign-aligned, deviant, or opposing forces except those aligned with Bangladesh. Comrades in struggle, we cannot allow Indian hegemony or any other foreign dominance to take root in this Bangladesh.”
Criticising the government, he added, “We had aspirations last July, dreams for August 5 – yet another August is approaching, and those dreams remain unfulfilled. We do not want a caretaker government playing the role of a civil administration. We want to see them in the role of a post-uprising government.”
He called for unity to build the future Bangladesh, upholding the aspirations of the 1947 opposition, the 1971 liberation struggle, and the 2024 movement for freedom.
He further stated, “We may have political differences among ourselves, but on the question of Mujibism and authoritarianism, all forces of the uprising must remain united.”
