No bomb was found into the flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines which was taking preparations for taking off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka to Kathmandu on Friday night.
“No bomb or anything was found at the aircraft. It was a fake call for a bomb threat,” ABM Roushan Kabir, GM (PR) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, told Times of Bangladesh.
“After the completion of the boarding of the passengers, the flight will fly to Kathmandu,” he added.
Earlier, the bomb threat caused a major scare at the airport, leading to the suspension of the flight .
The flight BG-373 was scheduled to depart from Dhaka at 4:45PM on Friday. However, just before its takeoff, an anonymous source issued a bomb threat. Following the warning, the airport’s security system was immediately placed on high alert.
Upon receiving the bomb threat, all passengers aboard the aircraft were safely evacuated, said Squadron Leader Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan Masum, the spokesperson for the Executive Director of the airport.
