Neymar reminded fans of his enduring class with a brace in Santos’ 3–1 win over Juventude on 5 August, marking his first double at club level since August 2022 and his first in any competition since September 2023.

Returning to his boyhood club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the 31-year-old Brazilian forward has endured a difficult spell with recurring injuries. However, he now appears to be regaining rhythm, having completed five consecutive full matches for the first time since 2022.

Neymar’s brace helped lift Santos to a vital win, as the club continues to hover near the relegation zone — currently sitting 15th in the Serie A table. The two goals took his tally to three in the 2025 league season from nine appearances.

His performance also offers encouragement ahead of Brazil’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Neymar has not featured for the national side since sustaining an injury against Uruguay in 2023, but is now hoping to maintain fitness and form to earn a return.
