The newly appointed Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr Abdullah Zafer H. bin Abiyah, formally presented his credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Wednesday.
The ceremony took place at Bangabhaban, with the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka later releasing two photographs of the event to the media on Wednesday night.
Dr Abiyah succeeds Essa Yousef Essa Alduhailan, who recently completed his tenure as the Kingdom’s ambassador to Bangladesh.
Earlier this year, the government of Bangladesh honoured Ambassador Alduhailan with the prestigious “Bangladesh Medal for Diplomatic Excellence” in recognition of his profound and enduring contributions to strengthening Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia relations. His efforts were widely credited with elevating the bilateral partnership to new heights.
