Joint Coordinator of Chattogram Metropolitan unit of the National Citizen Party (NCP) Nizam Uddin has been temporarily expelled from the party. The decision was communicated through a letter issued on Tuesday titled “Show Cause Notice and Expulsion Order.”

The letter stated: “Media reports have brought forth allegations of financial misconduct and serious breach of party discipline against you, which have tarnished the party’s reputation. Preliminary investigation has found merit in these allegations. Consequently, you are hereby temporarily suspended from all organisational activities of the party, effective immediately.”

It further directed: “You are instructed to submit a written explanation within 48 hours to Advocate Abdullah Al-Amin, Chairman of the Central Disciplinary Committee, justifying why you should not be permanently expelled.”

This action follows Saturday’s announcement of a 32-member coordination committee for NCP’s Chattogram Metropolitan unit. Central Joint Member Secretary and former student leader Mir Arshadul Haque was appointed chief coordinator. The committee, signed by NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain and Chief Organiser (Southern Region) Hasanat Abdullah, was published on NCP’s verified Facebook page.

The committee includes eight Joint Coordinators – Mohammad Erfanul Haque, Arif Moinuddin, Md Rapsan Jani Riaz, Mir Mohammad Shoaib, Jasim Uddin Opel, Jobair Hossain, Muhammad Saidur Rahman, and Nizam Uddin – alongside 23 members. The central NCP leadership has approved this committee for three months or until a full convening committee is formed.
